Frog, personally, I'd never hinge my expectations of a game on a preorder-based beta invite. I'll wait for retail release and decide whether or not the producer is ill prepared or not. I agree though that it's not good marketing to pump up the beta of a game, only to stuff the masses with server problems and registration difficulties.

I've never taken part in a beta, so I'm not entirely sure about the whole scenario, but the last thing I would expect from a beta invite is to walk into flawless organization and maintenance. I know there are some things that should be ready to go for a beta, but it seems to me like part of the point of a beta is to properly address problems that might have been encountered on retail release.

You guys better not be giving up on this after one little bump in the road.

I wouldn't make decisions based on the beta, either. Companies are much better about these things these days, but still, the online component of a game has quite often been one of the last things to get programmed.

I am willing to give some leeway on the technical side (although the shenanigans of yesterday do border on incompetence) but I wasn't too thrilled with the lack of communication. This could be an indication of just how important the customer is in their corporate culture.

I will add that things have gotten better tonight in that respect but yesterday/earlier today were pretty craptacular.

Someone who spends their time killing teammates (or annoying the piss out of them) rather then playing 'normal'. Maybe it was SpecialEd, anyways whoever it was (they made some post here in VG) they were like top %2 of griefers, mad skillz. I may try to search for it if the lord god our savior continues to punish me with no beta.
