I think that is a problem, there are'nt many good rolemodels for the African American community.

Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton are jokes if they think they are positive rolemodels. I don't think there has been a real leader since the 60's when MLK inspired a whole movement for civil rights.

I guess I would say Michael Jordan for sports, Oprah for business, and Bill Cosby because he loves Jell-o pudding pops!

challenge (just kidding). on a more serious note, i take issue with fact 6 in the original post. i understand/respect the desire to retain the sense of identity as an african-american but too often "assimilating into white culture" is equated with academic/scholastic success.
