My line is basically when the other person makes it personal. Idk, let's say I make 100k this year for the sake of argument. Someone brags that they're going to make 50k this year - that's cool with me and I don't say anything negative. I'd either keep quiet or say something like "congrats that's really good". Someone brags that they're going to make 50k this year and omg that's so much more money than most people - again, "yeah for sure" or nothing at all. Someone brags that they're going to make 50k this year and omg that's so much more money than you'll make this year Wiggs - that's when I'd correct them. [/ QUOTE ] Correct them with Fight Club quotes, right? "you're not how much money you have in the bank" Then it'll make it even sweeter when they persist that money determines a person's worth and then you mention that you actually make more.

Buying nice things to "subtly" indicate how much you make makes you a huge douche. He'd be better off wearing cargo shorts and sandals and just telling people.
