Re: Wynn Poker room BS
it is pretty ridiculous that she said the things she did and asked you to leave. It is actually pretty disgusting. In my experience, these drunken games provide dealers with 2-5x there normal tips and provides good publicity for whichever pokerroom you;re playing in. I guess it is better to choose 2nd tier poker rooms for this kind of thing. Never hand any problem at TI, Hilton, Hooter's. In fact, never had a probelm at the Wynn either, which in the past, has been a viable option to host a drunken poker game.

Re: Wynn Poker room BS
I think it's all been said. Basic summary...
Katherine's mistake was including "people playing for much higher stakes than you guys" in her request. She shoulda just kept it short and simple. OP's mistake was pretty much EVERYTHING that happened after this. I am a bit curious about the appearance of security. Did she ask OP to leave and he refused? I very rarely see poker floors call for security until it's clear they need them. If they feel threatened or feel like other folks are in physical danger, or eventually if their request that a player exit is refused, sure. But it's pretty rare for the goons to just suddenly appear and that to be the first time the player hears "you need to leave". So it feels like there MIGHT be a bit more to the original story, too. |

Re: Wynn Poker room BS
This is why drunken 1-3NL should be played at the Excalibur.
Last year after busting of the ME, a bunch of us went there, got seated at the table and proceeded to drink excessively, have fun, be loud (in a fun way), and waaaayyyy over tip the cocktail waitresses and dealers. At one point about 5 hours in when 1/2 of us had lost the ability to speak English, the cocktail waitress came over and said, "guys, my manager told me I have to cut you off......I can only bring you one drink each at a time, not two." It stinks, its ugly, its out of the way, but the Ex pretty much lets you do what you want if the tips are flying. Regards, Woodguy |

Re: Wynn Poker room BS
Amen, Cactus Jack. Mr. Mamuth made some great points. Traditionaly, the winning players have a code of behavior that includes respect for and courtesty to the house.
There is an unwritten rule that the winners have a higher standard of behavior than the suckers. The orgiginal poster brags and brags and brags about behavior he should be ashamed of. Either you are a man or you are a boy. You can not shift back and forth. Most people in casinos are tourists. It is a cherished, short vacation for them. Why should you be allowed to irritate them or the casino employees just because you are still on the south side of maturation? Your very question demonstrates that you are so self-centered and unaware of the world that you really do not understand that teenage cuteness should be in your past. An abusive, self obsessed, loud drunk that thinks he is funny is not a rarity in a gambling house. You really believe that you are so much more important than everybody there? In the early days, we always dressed up to a degree..sports coats and slacks, to play poker as a sign of respect for the house man and the game. The good, steady winners dressed better and acted better. The absolute cardinal rule of poker games is do not piss off the losers. Casino poker is a social event, ten people seated in a tight circle. I taught in college for many years. The me, me, me, folks like the original poster are embarrassing in their silly, immature, child-like blindness. There are people the same age who are just as wise as any member of Congress. Mr. Mamuth is right that the poker players have an obligation to the game and that starts with courtesy to the casino workers. Their's is a hard job. Can you imagine the moron, original poster saying he was in an outlaw illegal poker game anywhere and acted that way? What would happen to him? The original poster is the kind of a guy that could give gambling a bad name. |

I can't stand players like you getting drunk and acting stupid. Reminds me of the drunk white trash I see playing 5 dollars a hand on blackjack and cheering when they win a hand. Have some class. Thanks for blogging it, makes me want to play at the Wynn more knowing they won't tolerate douchebags like yourself. |
