Diablo,

Can you explain #2? What are French's French Fried Onions? Can I buy them at a supermarket? Do they need to be cooked? Does that take a while? They sound intriguing.

They are readily available at any grocery store; as your grandma used them on her green bean cassarole.

When I lived in the South, I used to get pressed Cubans at Publix grocery, they used that Durkee sauce on them. Damn, they was g00t.

1)Good fresh Italian bread is the foundation to any real sandwich. Crisp on the outside, soft on the inside. If that's not available you can grill or toast rye bread. Onion rolls are also a good choice.

2) Hoisin sauce. It's a chinese BBQ sauce and works well with all types of meat, but especially awesome with roast beef.

3) Good cole slaw works well on any rye bread type sandwich, especially if grilled.

4)Potato chips on a tuna sandwich...heaven.

5) Inglehoffer Stone ground mustard.

Agreed. Great stuff, makes me feel like I stole the King's lunch tray instead of eating the kind of sandwich us mere mortals are subject to.

If its cold cuts, symmetry is key with lettuce in the middle.
Also, crunchy stuff is good, like those really tiny fries on anything grilled are great
