My guess would be he's against it.
He's BASICALLY against pro-choicers, against gay marriage. |

My guess would be he's against it [/ QUOTE ] Best guess is he's against the federal government limiting it, just like he's against the federal government creating laws on marriage and abortion. |

As I've stated before, gay marriage is NOT just a marriage issue. It's an issue of bigotry and discrimination. The federal government should get involved.
This is no different to me than saying "Blacks can't marry". |

I dislike his non-interventionist policy. I believe we should be waging covert wars, silent wars and the such. Overall, I think we should be doing everything we can to incite a revolution in the Middle East for their own Enlightenment period. [/ QUOTE ] At first I thought we were being leveled. Then I realized you were actually serious... I think we've done more than enough meddling in the Middle East to "incite a revolution", but apparently my view of this revolution is much less optimistic than yours... "Enlightenment period", wtf? |

The thing is, it doesn't matter. Using the government to force your morality on people is simply bad. If local communities want to allow or ban gay marriage, that's their business and none of yours. Do you also support invading every country that doesn't have legal gay marriage and forcing that law on them? |

[ QUOTE ] Ron Paul basically voted "No" on everything while the rest of the Congress traded your liberty and money to each other in exchange for increasing each other's power. [/ QUOTE ] Yes, but did this have any effect on reducing taxes? [/ QUOTE ] Apparently not. Which illustrates why the "you can vote and implement your preferences" argument for democracy (western contemporary style) is bogus. You can vote for your guy, and EVEN IF HE WINS, which isn't a given, your preferences still end up ignored. Obviously, those people didn't vote hard enough. |

[/ QUOTE ] In my opinion, the 14th amendment does NOT leave this issue up to communities and states. It is a matter of equal rights for all people - won't make any law which "shall abridge the privledges or immunities...nor deprive any person of life, liberty, or property..." |
