Good luck Suzy. Personally I wouldn't touch a favorite on this joke of a show. I really have had enough. For me it all started when LaToya was eliminted a couple seasons ago. Then it got worse when Taylor won. Now Melinda gone?? For me I just can't bet on America's opinions any more. I should know better but Idol had been really good to me in the past.

Well the winner this season is going to be by a mile the least talented winner in the show's history. Really I think the clips showing the contestants returning to their homes was a big tell. Jordin and Blake had numerous young fans that obviously were willing to vote their fingers off. Melinda didn't draw that type of response.

I think one of her problems was that although she was outstanding, she consistently chose songs that were not recognizable to a wide audience. While her songs typically showed off her ability to handle difficult phrasing, I think it really lessens a viewers enjoyment if they haven't heard the song before. Song choice is very close to talent in what is most important to win American Idol. Jordin and Blake are both better at this skill than Melinda. They aren't in her league from a talent perspective.

I missed the very end of the show. Ryan asked Simon what he thought but my DVR cut it off. What did he say? And did Melinda sing afterward?

My Tivo switched over to Lost, so I missed the end too.

Wow, who would have thought at the beginning of this mess that the final 2 would have neither Melinda or Lakisha?
