So how was the episode overall for those that watched? Worth staying up to catch the re-run at 2?

Geez I dont know what to say. Maybe I`m expecting too much from this line up.
Phillllllllllllllll please explain that flush fold.
STUNNED!!!!

DW bet just over the pot size into 2 players I believe, and Ivey just thought there was no way a raise or a call was good for the situation. He basically put DW on a big hand AA-QQ. If he calls he's not getting the correct odds to draw or correct implied odds as he just doesn't think he's going to get paid off if he hits as his hand will not be disguised enough. Raising isn't such a bad play but he can't stand a re-raise all in and if DW has AA-QQ he will most likely 3 bet all in. I think many players don't appreciate how folding there is probably a better play than calling or raising. Plus stacks aren't deep enough for Ivey to make a big play.
Everyone happy?
Also, I thought Ivey played the QQ hand perfectly.

[/ QUOTE ]

And the summary to all of that is: Ivey thought there would be a better spot to get money from the donk (of this table).

Ivey and Negreanu were embarrassingly bad tonight.

Seriously are you confusing Ivey with David Williams?

I really wish Gabe would shut up.

[/ QUOTE ]

I think most fans would agree that a lot of good player chat is missed because of Gabe.

[ QUOTE ]
Most of the plays he gets so worked up about are pretty standard.

Those are the one he understands.

I hate to say it but I am extremely let down by this season. Maybe I was expecting too much, or the line up was overhyped, but this season is barely watchable. Has HSP jumped the shark? Hopefully it gets better, maybe it was just an off session, maybe the producers need to do a better job picking the players and setting the tables. Got my fingers crossed that the next few episodes are mind-blowing and thus redeem the season.

btw I really like Gabe, but he was awful tonight, DW and DN are the obvious fish at the table, and those who made a hasty retreat showed they do have some sense.

I don't get why Ivey's fold is such a big deal here.

Let's assume he reads Williams for an overpair, which would be correct here. When Williams bets the pot-plus, Ivey only has odds to call if he feels Williams will pay the flush. If he knows he won't, why would he make the call?

I like Gabe too. Seems like a lot of people here disagree with his opinions about a hand and that's fine but his commentary is better than any other poker show host imo.

I'm trying to figure out if that whole rant at the beginning and end was real or not. I assume it's manufactured or else it wouldn't be on TV but then again maybe Gabe is catching heat from the producers.

Why?

I feel like he's the guy at the table most like the general 2p2er when it comes to dorkiness, sense of humor, interests, etc.

I like the fact that he actually talks, unlike guys like Ivey and sbrugby who don't say a word unless spoken directly to.
