What is so immature about being ticked at having to cancel my trip? Before you even say re-schedule, it's not doable. I go or I don't. I've already said i'm not gonna raise a fuss and i'll work that day, but [censored] some of the responses in this thread make me want to shoot people.

You never told us what your plans were. You didn't make it out to be a huge deal.

People have already said that prior plans to be out of town that weekend is a viable excuse. You should have just brought it up with your boss immediately and tried to work something out, like coming in Friday night or Sunday night, or an excusable absentee altogether.

I didn't really feel it was relevent. It isn't really, but i'm going to Vegas to get smashed with some friends. I'm sure my boss will be super sympathetic to that. Only reason it isn't able to be rescheduled is because my buddies live in different states and it's been like 6 weeks in the making.

My boss finally came in and announced it's the weekend that sux for me. I spoke with him, he said he really needs me for the setup process. What can I say to that? GG Vegas, poor some liquor out for me.

Boss gave you Friday off - you have your 2 days. Not sure why you mind THAT much. Yeah, going in on a Saturday isn't optimal, but you DO get Friday all to yourself.
