Re: Are you smarter than a fifth grader?
[ QUOTE ]
are you guys serious? it doesn't have to be a right triangle. [/ QUOTE ] The area formula applies regardless. And you can construct a rectangle that will be twice the area of the triangle. But to do it such that the rectangle is comprised of two triangles instead of three does require that the triangle be right. This is what the argument was about. |

Re: Are you smarter than a fifth grader?
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] It's in October. but it's the most inconsequential holiday who cares? [/ QUOTE ] We get school off for Casmir Pulaski (sp) Day here in Illinois...we were told because there is that highest concentration of Polish people in Chicago. But it really is stupid that we're 3 hours southwest of Chicago and we still got a day of school off for it. For my city, I'd say THAT was the most inconsequential holiday. [/ QUOTE ] I didn't realize this was real, thought it was just a Sufjan song. |

Re: Are you smarter than a fifth grader?
I just happened across this show while channel surfing and this woman just answered that the country sharing the longest border with the U.S. is Mexico. Wow. Just wow. Especially considering she narrowed it down to Canada and Mexico.

That was boring and brutal to watch. |

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] http://www.fox.com/areyousmarter/ I played the trivia game, got 9 of 10 right. ScottieK [/ QUOTE ] 9 out of 10 here. A "gross" of pencils? Wtf? [/ QUOTE ] same, and i missed the same stupid question [/ QUOTE ] A gross is a dozen dozen. 12 x 12 = 144... And I got 10 of 10, but I did sort of guess on the Autumnal Equinox one. |

That was boring and brutal to watch. [/ QUOTE ] She definitely thought of Canada. When Foxworthy first asked the question, she's talking herself through it saying, well, the U.S. has Canada to the north and Mexico to the south, but she said that since Mexico is always in the news because of the security and what not, she's picking Mexico. |
