One time a teacher (She was born in Guatemala or w/e) was done checking out at Sams Club and the cash register dude says:
"Thank you, Myriam have a nice day." He is clearly intstructed to look at her name on her Sam's Membership Card or w/e and tell her have a nice day and call her by her first name to sound friendly. Very Standard. Well she tweeks out cuz he calls her by her first name. In Guatemala you only call ur best friends by their first name "out of respect" or something like that. Anyways she ends up demanding the manager, the manager is like what is the problem? She explains why she is offended and he calms her down. After she told our class that, like she did some great deed for the world I sat and thought to myself about the everyday stupid things that managers have to deal with and how I would nvr want to be one. She also told us a story about how the bank would not let her into the office where somebody she helped find a house for was signing the paper work for the house. She claims it was because she is foreign, in reality the bank can not legally let her in obv. She writes a letter to the bank, the manager is not a push over so he responds w/ something among the lines of "I'm sorry you were offended, but ..." She tells us "It was nice of him to write back, but he nvr game me an actual apology." After both of these stories I finally found out why everybody hates foreigners.

My days are filled with enough jargon and such that I don't understand it half of the time.
Yesterday involved correcting privates as I walked around their training area. The more amusing conversations come from listening to the Drill Sergeants talk to their Soldiers. I had a lot of: Them: "Professions in gears, sir" Me: "Go Ordnance"

Her: I refuse to let you shut off my phone!!! Me: Ummmmm.... OK. You can make future payments by X, Y, or Z method and you will incur an N dollar reactivation fee if your service is interrupted. Her: Maybe you didn't hear me. I need my phone, I won't let you shut it off. Me: ????
