It's only Penn State, but it's about time Purdue gets a road win. NCAA hopes would have been dead without a win today, so it's also a huge relief. Now I don't have to hear about that damn streak anymore.

was a good game by the Boilers. They controlled almost the entire 2nd half.

Re: ***Official Big10 bball 2006-7 season thread***
Ohio State continues to impress. Add East Lansing to West Lafayette and Champaign-Urbana. It's remarkable how poised the freshman are in big road games. The brutal @UNC, @Fla, @Wisky early schedule is paying huge dividends. If they beat the Badgers in Columbus, they are the front-runner for the Midwest #1 seed.
Wisky recoverd well...yawner verse NW. Iowa outlasts Indiana in a horribly officiated game. Majerus himself must have questioned at least 8 calls. Bad breaks both ways. DJ White needs to do more to get himself going in non-home games. Life is tough on the road. IU had a chance to make a real statement towards getting a #3 seed (thus avoiding a potential match-up with a #1 for longer). Still have some chances for the Hoosiers. Merely maintained the status quo opinion right now instead of stepping up to the spot I feel they can reach. |

Oden continues to improve. Ohio State showed that they are evolving as a team with a big road win today, especially after last weeks almost-second half debacle against this same MSU team. Both OSU and Wisc. will roll to a big showdown on Feb. 25th at the Schott.

Re: ***Official Big10 bball 2006-7 season thread***
I seriously hate every single Michigan State player besides Neitzel and Suton right now. The big guys were straight up anemic. Joseph and Morgan were AWOL the whole damn game. I know I've been spoiled with MSU the last 8-9 years or so, but this is frustrating as hell to watch.

Illini rolled...I'm not sure Minny could fall out of a boat and hit the water.
Jamar Smith finally showed up again. The Illini continue to improve their ball movement, spacing, and perimeter defense--all of which were big weak points 2+ weeks ago. |

Re: ***Official Big10 bball 2006-7 season thread***
Haluska has really stepped up this year and deserves love. The Hawks look destined to fall apart early in the year. Haluska has carried that team to mediocrity. The freshman Smith is damn good, too.
I wish Haluska would stop flopping to the ground after his 3s. However, the refs keep giving him the call. Tough to stop. |

Wow, Michigan hanging with OSU on the road. I know we'll blow it, but man, if by some chance Michigan pulls this out, this would more than make up for Iowa. I'm sure we'll lose though.

Re: ***Official Big10 bball 2006-7 season thread***
As I said, they pulled away. No shame, I guess, they're pretty good and it's the Big Ten on the road. Still, we have an awful lot of terrible turnovers and leave far too many wide open looks.
