So much needless controversy over this. Are they so big that they take up a lot of space and make others next to them uncomfortable? Fine, then seat them all in the same rows together.
Be interesting to see who complains about whom?

What about tall people who's legs dont fit behind the seats unless they get an exit row? Should they have to pay for 2 seats also?

[/ QUOTE ]

Also you can't control being tall. You can control being huge. So if anything being tall is a disability - well atleast for flying it is.

The point is not actually whether or not you can control being fat. Even if we concede that morbidly obese people have NO CONTROL over their weight whatsoever, they are still paying for the limited commodity of airplane passenger space.

A tall person in the exit row doesn't inconvenience fellow passengers by invading their personal space. A 450 pound guy in the aisle seat does, and it doesn't matter why or how he got fat.

dvs,

That is a brilliant "outside the box thinking" solution. They have the option to pay extra for two seats or sit in designated rows. Wow. I love it!

if you have a flight with not enough fatties to balance both sides of the plane it might be very hard to pilot it if you put them all together, but I still love this idea

THere should also be a rule that, once you are over a certain weight, your lugagge weight allowance gets reduced. If, by buying a ticket, you are buying space and a certain weight allowance on a plane, why should a 350lb monster be allowed to take as much luggage on as somone who is 140lbs, and using up much less of the plane's resources?

do you have any idea how many folds it takes to pack up my sweater?
