If he drops the appeal this week he will miss cleveland, denver, cincinatti, and oakland. If he doesn't he will play against cleveland and miss the game against buffalo. Either way he wont miss both denver games.

Bolts Brief - LT edition.

So the "10 best NFL" thread had a lot of LT comments. From what I gather, the general consensus is running backs are overrated in general, LT is overrated in particular. His pass catching skills are overvalued.

That's what the number say, fine. But football is played on the field. LT is gonna fill up the seats and fire up that crowd like he always does on Sunday. And the stats may not value LT, but Defensive coordinators are worried every week about this guy, running and catching. This Saturday night, 11 Cleveland Brown defenders are gonna be tossing and turning.

Management can trade a pro bowl QB for a kid who never started in part because of what LT brings. Rivers has confidence he's got a running game, a guy he can audibilize to a run when he is confused, and dump it to when he is under pressure. Good pass protection, too. LT fires up that O-line (a line of journeymen and low round picks and a Rookie 2nd round giant) who love to run block for him. On a team with some bad dudes, he's a good lockerroom/community guy.

Here's a 17 second everyday run for LT.

LT rules. You guys must be high.

Bolts at home v Browns. 12.5 and 41 total. No analysis or picks this week. You all have a one week suspension for positive drug test.

Although the front 3 of Castillo, Jamal Williams, and Igor played great, this was without a doubt LT's game. With the Chargers playing uninspired ball, the Browns had a lead midway through the 3rd 12-10. The Chargers pinned Browns deep at their own two. 3 runs netted zero yards, as the guys up front dominated.

Chargers take over on the Browns 41. One play drive, LT breaks a tackle and outruns everybody. That fires up the crowd, and LT takes over the game, scores 2 more TDs. He even recovers the onside kick to seal the victory.

Chargers were playing without both outside linebackers Merriman and Phillips (Foley's replacement). Rivers was accurate, made some nice plays. Browns didn't find the endzone until a minute left in the game, but they hung in there with big kick returns and Charger penalties resulting in many field goals.

Got to do better than that these next two weeks, at CINN and at DEN. Frankly, they are not playing that well, but it is what it is.

I still like them to get into playoffs, as the schedule softens and they should be at full strength at the right time. Can't complain about a win, I guess. I'm just hoping for peaking and playoffs at the same time.

Can your coach actually win a playoff game? Wouldn't it be his first?

It's been 13 years, 4 of which were in the playoffs.

I think with Grossman falling apart vs good teams, and Philly being unable to win games they should, the Giants and Chargers are the top2 teams to beat in the NFL

I swear Marty is one of the least liked coaches in the NFL (or sports?). We were so close to firing him a few years ago and then we went and had a good year. That sucked.
