NT, i don't think Repeater fits the time frame. sorry to hear you never got to see HWM live, i saw them once at a coffee shop with about 15 other people. i agree with you on Mush--great, great album.

I know, I more made that list as a PSA for people who think indie rock started in 2002. Glad you like it.

06 Good Morning Captain (Slint - Spiderland) closing track from what many people consider the best indie rock album EVAR. takes a while to get into this outside of the context of the album but the end of this song is sick

[/ QUOTE ]

This album is a masterpiece. And their untitled 2-song EP is just as awesome.

no real order, and i'm trying to avoid the albums that everyone's already listed (of which, ok computer is the only non hip-hop cd i'd list anyway).

Mos Def- Black on Both Sides
Northstar- Pollyanna
Brother Ali- Shadows on the Sun
Failure- Fantastic Planet (just saw this one listed a couple times, w/e it stays)
Thrice- Illusion of Safety
Finch- What it is to Burn
Sublime self titled
J-Live- All of the Above
Gza- Liquid Swords (this might be 95)
J5- Power in Numbers
Blackalicious- Blazing Arrow
Gangstarr- Full Clip (does this count?)
Thursday- Full Collapse
TREOS- Between the Heart and the Synapse
Dillinger Escape Plan- Calculating Infinity
Burning Spear- Marcus Garvey

That last ones just inducing a nit
Yeah, I lost count, should be less than 25 though.

I don't understand rap-centric lists that do not include Mr. Lif's I Phantom.

Jesus, Nothumb's first post around reply 50 or so was the first to mention Tool, Nas, and a hndful of others. Sheesh.

Maybe I'm a stuck up old codger, but the more bands on your list start with "The" or have more than three words to their name, the worse your list is. Double penalty for bands that meet both conditions.

is it cool to like this neutral milk hotel cd or something? i mean, i like it and all, but i wouldnt even consider putting it anywhere near a top 25 list and am quite suprised to see it consistently near the top.
