With chuckles brilliant idea, we should have a 23% chance of narrowing the mole to one of two players (bear with me for a second).

Pick ANY order. We can have someone volunteer to rand() and reveal FIRST (that way we dont run the risk of having the mole rand and pick themselves as last to go). If the mole rands, he/she will have a 1/14 chance of picking the unassigned role. If they go, say, 5th, they'll have a 1/10 chance. Etc etc. The average chance of success is 23%.

Now, if the mole guesses wrong and calls out a taken role (likely), that person will pipe up and say HEY YOURE THE MOLE. Then we know that the person who just revealed is the mole OR the person who called them out is the mole. So we just have to watch those two like a hawk from then on.

even then he would be dumb to lie cause we will easily figure out who he is

Which is similar. I don't get it, the mole's only character assigned to him/her is mr. burns or smithards right? So how will they 'not lie' when the spotlight's on them and they have to claim somebody?

Or do they also have a cover character assigned to them? Great I think I just figured it out. Game = confusing sometimes.

So when nich said "mr burns and smithards are undercover as citizens" he meant that the moles will get 'cover' citizen roles assigned to them too. Now everything makes sense and I have to completely change my interpretation of this thread.

come on ev, the mole is one of the 15 characters in the thread. we are all overanalyzing way too much. everyone reveal. if we win the round we learn little. if we lose we know the mole is one of the people who voted late. if we tell them when to reveal we force the mole to lie ... yay

i'm not seeing something here.

we should just all reveal our characters as soon as we enter the thread right? if mole waits and goes last, and we fail the challenge, then we already know who the mole is.

if mole is 2nd to last, i doubt he will risk guessing the fake character since revealing his role in the 1st task would be insane.

everyone just reveal.... no?

You know what, just reavealing kinda works too. If the team manages to lose the game (doubtful as the mole will probably claim truthfully kinda early), then we can heavily weight our suspicions.
