What if the buyin consisted of buying in with a firearm such as a glock? Would you bring an extra UZI if someone got out of hand in the tourney for glocks?

walk into the game with a vest consisted of dynamite and hand grenades. Just keep your thumb on the detonator just in case anyone calls you a donkey.

Definitly cary. You are within your legal rights to do so unless the owner of the property asks you not to (which they won't if you don't print) at which point you would have to leave if they ask you to.

The whole point of concealed carry is that you never know where you might need it. While I don't consider small stakes poker games particularly dangerous, they are probably more dangerous than a random 4 hours of your life, and as such I certainly wouldn't pick them as a location to NOT carry.

I would, however offer two pieces of unsoliced advice:

1) Downsize to a S&W 640 or similar for situations like this. The Glock frame is huge, and prints far to easily.

2) Remember never to draw except as an immediate prelude to shooting to save your life (or that of an innocent person you're willing to risk your life to protect). Under all other scenarios, including a mere robbery of the poker game, keep it in the holster.

BTW, leaving the gun in the car is dumb because the car doesn't need it, can't use it, and unless you have a safe in the car can't stop someone from stealing it.

Actually, a chick that plays in my home game usually has her revolver in her purse, and it's never been an issue. If you generally carry wherever you go, then it's a fair assumption to carry to a home game. I would ask the host, because it isn't something you'd like to just "come up" in conversation. At my place, she's welcome to bring her piece, but it stays in her purse andher purse stays away from the table. If a guy wanted to bring a gun, no problem, but it would not be welcome at the table. But in NC, it's kinda a given that half the people in any building own guns, so regional differences in attitude may apply.

This whole question makes me wonder whether I ever want to host a home poker game again. If someone brought a gun into my house, I would be pissed.

The thought that someone could bring a gun into my house without telling me makes me very angry. Someone should be able to feel safe in their own home, and if that means keeping the home free of guns, even those legally carried, people should respect that. Should I have to frisk everyone entering my door just in case someone has a concealed carry permit??

So...if you carry a Glock inside your waistband, and Glocks have a 2-stage trigger instead of a safety...are you not concerned about possibly blasting off a certain fairly important part of your anatomy?
