The injury is supposed to be a separated rib. Not that I know the difference, but sounds like something that could happen from strain.

There is a lot of people who doubt this at sherdog. I think that BJ's cardio just failed. The first two rounds required a [censored] ton of energy from BJ. All that action from his guard and his submission attempt at the end of the second would gas most world class athletes. I'm getting sick of all the excuses coming from the Penn fanboys. Yes BJ is uber talented but a big part of Hughes's talent is how hard he is to submit and knock out. BJ did dominate the first two rounds but that isn't enought to beat Hughes. Hughes is able to weather a storm like that and come out 100% in the third round. That is a skill and it should be appreciated.

BJ is probably more skilled than Hughes but that doesn't do him any good if he can't wear Hughes down enough to impose his will. This fact make Hughes the better fighter. Period.

Now, bring on Hughes vs GSP in UFC 65.
