Re: **Official Greatest Nintendo (NES) Game of All-Time Tournament**

nath, All I care about is that a consensus is reached. And even then I don't care that much - I am more a product of Atari and Intellivision. I think Gobias got a huge hard-on about the bracket idea and just ran with it in a very short period of time without taking a deep breath and consulting the other 150 people who posted in that thread much less you, who clearly exhibited the most in-depth knowledge and interest in NES titles. One thing: I'd be annoyed if a previously existing title like Marble Madness won. That game came out in arcades at least a couple if not several years before the NES was released. Same thing with a lot of other titles. NES developers produced a TON of unique games for their console, it would be much better if an original title won. [/ QUOTE ] You left out the biggest reason. Marble Madness is an only ok game with no plot and little replay value. It's fun but not to play for hours like some of these games. |

Super Mario 3 was the best game produced on NES. Not opinion, fact. Techno Bowl may have been your favorite game as a kid but if you played it now on a NES you wouldn`t enjoy it. Mario 3 on the other hand is ageless. [/ QUOTE ] I STILL play TSB and its even more fun now that im older. It is one of the greatest 2-Player games ever made. SMB3 was a fun game, but its a game people play now either for nostalgia or trying to see how fast they can beat it. I dont see how that qualifies as ageless. |

Excellent work Nath.
But I think we need a play-in game. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles vs. Home Alone Also -- nobody has any love for the Bases Loaded series? Bases Load 2 was a great game. |

I haven't been to the site for a while, but it's still up and running so hopefully some of these games are still up:

Excitebike vs. Tecmo Bowl? Jesus H. Christ, why don't you make me choose between my testicles?
Also, not to further hijack, but . . . [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Also, the whole "why isn't this in the Video Games forum?" contingent: STFU. [/ QUOTE ] You've changed IMO. [/ QUOTE ] QFT, but he's also right. [/ QUOTE ] Is this some complicated level I'm missing here? |

[/ QUOTE ] Er...plot is something that pre-rendered cut-scene RPG fanboys are supposed to be concerned with. It does not apply to NES games, and there's nothing wrong with that. |

Has anyone beaten jaws? So hard Also - Friday the 13th - impossible [/ QUOTE ] I beat Jaws! I was so [censored] exicted. I "think" I beat Fridat the 13th too. I am pretty sure once you beat it it just starts over and its a little harder. There was something different about it, but I can't remember what. Maybe the monster were different and moved faster? |
