Impact speed was about 38 mph. That slight slope made all the difference in him not being seriously injured, although a bruised liver, lung, vertebre stress fractures, and a hand fracture is not exactly uninjured.

As one doctor said, whoever let him walk off was seriously not doing their job. He needed to be in a neck collar and strapped to a back board immediately, but I guess that's too wussy for the X Games.

LDO. After watching the dudes neck snap like that first thing I thought was he should be strapped to a backboard and in a collar.

Burnquist said if he hadn't walked away from the fall he would've let him have the gold. Since he did walk away he figured Brown would have wanted him to go for it since it was a competition.
