All,

JV is taking this down. He rules, both as a poker player and a great guy.

I called it a couple of days ago.

El D,

Go back to blackjack. Your poker analysis sucks. In fact, I'll take a pure chip-count bet against your man to win, where I lay odds in proportion to his current chip count against the field. You put up $100 and I put up whatever is required to make it an even-money bet.

(you can see that I didn't pick JV in my other prop, obv)

Based on chip counts at the beginning of the day, I make it 114.04 to one. Let me know ASAP if you want the action, either cell phone is fine.

Take the bet El Diablo (assuming the calculation Howard made is right). J_V should have an edge.

Another night, we were trying to figure out the line on how long it would take to walk from the Bike to Vegas. I genuinely think if I'd been willing to commit, he'd have taken that prop and started walking, right then.

[/ QUOTE ]

At 267 miles form the Bike to the Bellagio, it would take me about 90 walking hours.

That would be far more impressive than your 2005 World Series prediction.

I'm thinking it may be difficult to average 3 mph in death valley.

Dynasty: I calculated it based on 6348 players times 20K chips each divided by JV's 1,115,000 at the start of the day. I have not seen updates on him and presume the same for El D.

edited to type the damn numbers right

Obviously, you aren't making this walk in the summer. You've got to do it in good weather.

Yes, but you could not do it straight. I don't think you'd want to walk along the freeway, and you need food, water, and sleep. It was at the Legends, so it was also mid-August and hot as hell.

There's no way anybody should try this in August. You're simply putting your lfie at risk walking in the 110+ degree desert.

Assuming good weather and taking close to the shortest route possible (including walking on the highway if it's legal), it has to be doable in a week. That's only walking about 13 hours a day. Six days seem very possible with 15 hours of walking per day. 5 days is a major task.
