According to DVOA and DPAR, Roddy White and Michael Jenkins are having MUCH, MUCH better seasons than they did last year. Improved catch rate, improved DVOA (fairly good ones too), etc. Admittedly, they are 3rd year starters, but they were HORRIBLE last year. Really, I think Harrington is a much, much better passer than Vick is.
However, Vick/Young's bootlegging is effective, and probably helps the run game. Young is probably slightly better than average right now. Also, completely agree on/with SF. |

I'm sick of people posting stats from FO that "prove"there team has some how gotten so unlucky. Maybe your team just sucks.
How have the Eagles looked good in any game but the Detroit game this year? They aren't very good. Yes injuries hurt but every team has injuries, even more serious injuries then the Eagles. |

[ QUOTE ] Assani, Have you considered that the front offices of Atlanta and Tennessee haven't gotten talented WRs because they know the QBs can't get them the ball? [/ QUOTE ] ATL never ever drafted first round WR's.....riiiiight [/ QUOTE ] Meh, I was mainly throwing it out there because I vaguely recall some "insider source" claiming that the Titans didn't try to acquire any top receiver talent for Vince the past season for the above reason. |

You don't need top flight WR to win. See the Pats, Falcons a couple of years ago, Eagles, etc. Although it doesn't hurt, see the Pats this year.
Seahawks lose Strong for the year. He's going to have to retire in all probablity. Bad loss for the Seahawks on a team whose running game was already struggling. |

I'd rather have a QB who wins ugly like VY then a QB who can't find a way to win but has amazing stats.

I voted true, but what I really meant is he plays for one of the best coaches in the NFL which results in his being on the winning side of many games where they are at a talent disadvantage (a large part of which is usually caused by VY himself).

The whole thing like Vick is too polarized. He's a decent QB. Not great. Clearly he helps the team in non-statistical ways. But Vick didn't turn over the Packers 6 times in that playoff game.

bugstud, kidcolin, It really is all how you look at it isn't it? Some say, "well 3 out of his last 5 reg season games were bad." Well you can say 2 out of his last 3 reg season games were outstanding or counting the playoffs 3 out of his last 4 were good. We can sit here and try to look at it from whatever way you want but it all comes down to the fact that he performed well 9 out of 12 games and the talent was extremely visible whereas Rex Grossman plain sux, he doesn't have the mobility, the ability to create, the awareness--just watch the two and it is plain as day the difference between the two--you can watch a bad game from Romo and see his talent, that is how you know. [/ QUOTE ] I'm going to dispute the talent aspect by pointing out relative draft positions. Grossman may have been a reach but is clearly, coming into the nfl, got comparable/better talent. Both players are very very weird from a comparable standpoint, neither one really have anyone you can point to and say "yeah, that's what his career could look like." going back to grossman's stats last year, 5 awful games (including gb), 1 meh game, 7 good, 3 awesome? I mean, worse than romo but if you want to use the scouting arguement, both of them had some really bad games towards the end and since we lack a sample, how can you really know variance vs actual upcoming performance? Don't forget Romo had 6 fumbles in the last 3 games while we're at it. FO had a hard time figuring out who would do what this year, I don't claim to be able to do better. |
