[ QUOTE ]
Over-reaction to a bill can do far more harm than the bill itself. A mass cashout, for example, can spook investors and rooms, and possibly crash a small room or two, [/ QUOTE ] This is an important point. Besides PokerStars, that claims to have player deposits in cash, I'm sure there are several smaller sites that could NOT cover a mass cashout (think It's a Wonderful Life.) One tweaked view is to hope for a "bad news bonus" on this news! C'mon Poker Stars, give a USA-player only bonus! == Win or lose this round, the key failure here was to NOT disconnect Poker from casino and chance games where the house/site has an interest in the player losing. The real goal if we get the chance to tackle this in the next Congress (meaning all bills need to start anew) is to sacrifice casino action restrictions for allowance of poker. Of course, this is difficult to enforce too, but still... I complained that the time of places like Party Poker and Paradise Poker incorporating casino games into their poker room. That wasn't a key factor this time, but it makes our pitch of "but this is just a poker room!" hollow. |

Are you guys watching C-SPAN right now? Are they gonna get to this today? He just allotted 2 people with 20 minutes each. So now they're gonna talk about this energy bill for the next 40 minutes? I don't know how any of this stuff works, btw.

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] And you guys export democracy... [/ QUOTE ] so true, what a joke. those c o c k sucker republicans telling me what i can and can't do all the time, what is happening with our country?? [/ QUOTE ] The Republican Party decided to break away from real conservative values and instead has decided to pander to religious zealots. I appreciate the heads up in this thread, I made my phone calls this afternoon and atleast feel a little better knowing I put forth an effort to prevent such action. Hopefully people remember such legislative actions when it's time to vote in November. [/ QUOTE ] Name me a Democrat that earned our votes in this (non) battle. |

[/ QUOTE ] This is tacked onto an important bill. It's a matter of who introduced the legislation. You can't deny that the GOP played a significantly larger role in getting this legislation through. |

Right, one party fed us a sh!t sandwich, and the other just a glass of nice warm urine. Thank god we didn't get a sh! sandwich with a glass of cold diarrhea.
