Re: ***Official 2007 Philadelphia Phillies Thread***
Dear Phillies-
I know we're working together to overtake the Pads... but if you could just lose one game this weekend that'd be great, k thx |

Re: ***Official 2007 Philadelphia Phillies Thread***
Why was Wes Helms (pinch running for Victorino, lol) trying to make it home there? How was he sent?

Re: ***Official 2007 Philadelphia Phillies Thread***
Great win. Great.
I thought the Phils were going to get to Redding early and often after that first inning, but he did a good job scattering the hits after that. And when Schneider led off the 7th with that triple (good bid, Rowand) it seemed the Nats would surely take the lead. They pulled this one out of their hat. |

Re: ***Official 2007 Philadelphia Phillies Thread***
I know it was good to take Hamels out since he is coming back from injury, and I know that the Phils could have made a big inning there in the top of the 6th.
But it still felt wrong, and sure enough Alfonseca right from the first batter gave it up. Nice line 0.1 IP, 2H 2BB 2ER. Thanks for playing! |

Re: ***Official 2007 Philadelphia Phillies Thread***
Well, they do keep battling. That ninth inning showed that. It just looked like both Helms and Werth were trying to win it on one wing of the bat.
OK, get your rest, Phils, huge homestand coming up. |

Re: ***Official 2007 Philadelphia Phillies Thread***
this game i'm pretty sure was lost the instant Charlie decided to go to Alfonseca. does anybody else think that his suspension was actually a GOOD thing, insofar as it prevented him from entering any games and blowing any leads?
I honestly can't [censored] imagine why Charlie would go to him, even with the fact that Geary et al. had thrown so much. I'd take a 50% Geoff Geary over a 100% Antonio Alfonseca any day of the week and twice on Sunday. edit: regardless, 8-2 on the road trip is pretty fantastic. |

Is now the time when the Phils come crashing back to reality?
