Re: ALCS - Indians vs Red Sox
Anyone else find it odd that Ortiz hits so many opposite field fly balls but never any ground balls the other way when the shift is on?

[ QUOTE ] This is Dice-K's problem, when he doesn't throw strikes early in the count, he sucks. Also, lol at tribe-fan nodding their heads and saying "Kenny Lofton is who we thought he is." Like you reaction would be any different if you were getting owned by Tim Wakefield and Coco Crisp. [/ QUOTE ] I am as shocked as anyone that he hit that HR. I am not shocked that the Tribe is even in this series. They are just as good as Boston. Both of these teams can beat you in many ways, not just with the big guns. People stepping up that you don't really expect to (that's you Sux Nixon) is what makes the play-offs so awesome, IMO. KJS [/ QUOTE ] No one has said that the Indians don't belong. We're complaining about the sheer absurdity of losing to two outfielders (Nixon and Lofton) who are a combined 132 years old. Edit: How is that scored a basehit? |

[ QUOTE ] This is just about everyone's problem, when just about everyone doesn't throw strikes early in the count, just about everyone sucks. [/ QUOTE ] [/ QUOTE ] That wasn't really what I was saying. He's not throwing breaking stuff for strikes, and people are simply laying off his "out" and strike-out pitches. He's got nothing to throw but fastballs down the chute. It's like everyone in the lineup is seeing the ball perfectly out of his hand and grinding out at-bats. Awesome baserunning Ortiz. |
