Tim Crowder to the Jags?

[/ QUOTE ]

It's him or Trent Edwards. I'm not sure they go anywhere else here.

[/ QUOTE ]

Justin Durant. Man, this draft has been damn near unpredictable.

Bengals go for either Marcus McCauley or Tank Tyler.

Anyone know the details of the Jets/Packers trade?

[/ QUOTE ]

On a Jets board they posted that we gave up #63, #89, and a 6th rounder. WTF?

The trade up for Revis was good. We got the top CB in the class and we're super-weak at CB. This is bad, we've got no picks left.

[/ QUOTE ]

You guys got GB's 7th, so you have one left.

While there is a little lull in the action. Cleveland has had the best draft thus far correct?

Hard to say. I think Browns, Falcons, Niners, Jags, Bengals, Lions, and Bills have all done well so far.

All,

I know many of you are upset with your team's drafts, but remember that it could be worse. You could have drafted Kevin Kolb 36th overall.

[/ QUOTE ]
Come on, it's not that bad. Sure it's a reach, sure there were better QBs available, but when you really like a guy it's not the worst thing in the world to take him a bit early if you need to fill a desperate need. Since the team has no other capable players at that position, it's only a marginally bad pick.

Well, this makes the SF-Patriot deal a bit nicer for the Niners if they only have to give up the Colt's pick next year instead of their own.

[/ QUOTE ]

no no - the Patriots have the 49ers pick. The 49ers get the Colts pick. the 49ers don't get to choose which one they ship to the Pats

(that is, if the SF/Indy trade is right...it really doesn't make a lot of sense)

[/ QUOTE ]

Everything I have read says a first round pick. Every other trade has said "X's first round pick".

[/ QUOTE ]

Also, they own both picks, they are allowed to choose which to trade.

Cody

[/ QUOTE ]

are you sure? that makes no sense to me.

[/ QUOTE ]

Yes, picks are just like players. You can designate in the offer which you're including. Now if for some reason they offered "a" first rounder (hint: They didn't) then I guess NE could choose. The NFL, however, probably wouldn't allow this trade, they would make SF specify befor the offer could go through.

I think I prefered Jarret to Rice, but I still like Rice.
Just to expand on Peterson.
QBs are more important than RBs.
QBs are less injury prone than RBs.
I like Tavaris Jackson, but there is still a very good chance he becomes Seneca Wallace. Chester Taylor and Mewelde Moore are very serviceable.
Quinn has a pro body and played in a prostyle offense. I hate ND I hate the Pats and Charlie Weis and I still think
Quinn>>>>>>>>Peterson

Meh. I'm just glad we didn't take another DB or DL. I'm happy we went with two skill position guys and will reserve judgment. It'd be nice to have a game breaking RB. Our plan is probably to take Troy Smith next, as he is the next Tom Brady, and then we'll be set.

WTF JAGS. Crowder is on the board, Edwards is on the board. Kalil is on the board. Justin Durant??? Why do Jags love 1-AA schools?

you wouldn't trade for a pick the team doesn't have. they trade for a 2008 1st round pick--the 49ers 2008 1st round pick

The 49ers only have 1 1st round pick..but they also have the rights to Indy's 2008 1st round pick.

Yup. Detroit has done very well. Jacksonville owned the first round, but I don't understand taking Durant in the second round.

My 3 A+ picks: Joe Thomas, Reggie Nelson, Brady Quinn
My 2 F picks: Ted Ginn Jr, Kevin Kolb
