I think I may be taking more out of the FullTilt nl400 games than anybody else right now. Playing great and running great, and have grinded up a full 400 roll on there in a few days. sweet, sweet profit.

Because you don't get 28% rakeback. If you trade your FPP for cash then you get like 15-20% rakeback (in cash games, depending on what exactly you play), but you get nothing from the store. If you use your points in the store then you don't get any sort of rakeback.

I seem to recall a breakdown of this (Stars VIP schema) on 2p2 somewhere. I never really paid attention when Stars implemented this because I didn't play there, and now I'd be really interested in seeing what the 6-max NL player gets as "rakeback" vs. full ring, another level, limit, etc. Anyone know of such a thing on here? Search reveals too much to wade through, and while I could calculate it myself, I am feeling lazy.

There was a post yesterday or today in the zoo which said that Supernova is worth... 14% ... I think? ... rakeback at 2/4 NL 6-max.

I'll go find where i got that, but i've seen a bunch of breakdowns of this that all say it's 28%, and so what if you have to trade your points for giftcards or merchandise to get it, it doesnt change the value.

Equivalent Rakeback @ $5/10 NL full ring (Over 50k hands)
assuming $0.017/FPP

% hands reach $1 rake = 63.5064%
% hands reach $3 rake = 41.0662%

Rake/100 hands = $19.78638

VIP level | FPP/100 | Rakeback %
BronzeStar | 104.57 | 8.985%
SilverStar | 156.86 | 13.477%
GoldStar | 209.15 | 17.969%
PlatinumStar | 261.43 | 22.462%
SuperNova | 366.00 | 31.446%

Equivalent Rakeback @ $10/20 NL full ring
assuming $0.017/FPP

% hands reach $1 rake = 58.1749%
% hands reach $3 rake = 45.0842%

Rake/100 hands = $22.0041

VIP level | FPP/100 | Rakeback %
BronzeStar | 103.26 | 7.978%
SilverStar | 154.89 | 11.966%
GoldStar | 206.52 | 15.955%
PlatinumStar | 258.15 | 19.944%
SuperNova | 361.41 | 27.922%

Interesting to note that the FPP/100 accumulation is actually SLOWER at $10/20 FR NL than $5/10 FR NL and consequently lowers the equivalent rakeback %. This is due to less hands reaching $1 rake despite the fact that more hands are reaching $3 rake but its not enough to compensate for the lower $1 rake %.

Equivalent Rakeback @ $3/6 NL full ring
assuming $0.017/FPP

% hands reach $1 rake = 59.1180%
% hands reach $3 rake = 30.7048%

Rake/100 hands = $20.5426

VIP level | FPP/100 | Rakeback %
BronzeStar | 89.82 | 7.433%
SilverStar | 134.73 | 11.150%
GoldStar | 179.65 | 14.867%
PlatinumStar | 224.56 | 18.583%
SuperNova | 314.38 | 26.017%

the 28% is calculated by comparing the fact you get 3.5fpps per 1$ paid in tournament rake fees with the value of 1 fpp for most things (for example sunday 215$ ticket=13500fpp so 1fpp=215/13500). it comes to you getting 28 cents worth of fpps for every dollar you pay in tournament rake when you are supernova.

however theres a different system for making fpps in cash games and you have to generate more rake for the same amount of fpps in a cashgame than the tournament entry fees you pay, so it works out to less than 28% "rakeback" for cashgames. combined with the fact the dollars per fpp rate for the fpp store bonus cash thing is a bit worse than the $/fpp rate for most of the other things in the store (eg amazon vouchers, tournament entries), you get a significantly shittier rakeback for cashgames than the "28%" everyones throwing around
