The stack in that picture is ~8 racks. I had a bigger one the night before, all in white, of about 15 or 16. No one took a picture though. The one in the linked picture has at least one chip of every denomination up to $1k, too.

I've seen more but this is worth a mention. Playing 20/40 in foxwoods. Guy buys into the game for 3500. The reason he did this was to build elaborate chip structures. He made a house, bridge, tree all sortsa of cool bstuff. In the end he made two pyramid things because he ran down the stacks to about 1500...pretty funny

That musta been you guys playing when the table broke maybe about 4am and the dealer called out something like "We need 20 racks... at LEAST 20 racks". Y'all were having far more fun on your table than we were on ours. Though people were enjoying getting their collectable Robert Varkonyi ace-of-spades cards--bet you didn't get one of those playing on your limit table.

when i finished a recent twoplustwo magoo fest at 3/6 at the borgata, i had 15 racks, mostly white chips with a stack of blacks and some greens and reds thrown in there... i think we capped everything and i took down 80% of pots or something.

Yeah, that was us. I was teaching Nolanfan that the key to hold 'em is flopping the world. You can keep Varkonyi. He's a bad playing, bad looking version of MaxPower.

Back in the day, when the players dealt the cards themselves in California casinos, there was a guy who played at Garden City who used to buy a rack of chips every few minutes. He would have literally thousands of chips stacked perhaps 18 inches high. These were limit games, mind you. He had to stand when it was his turn to deal. He also liked to whoop it up from time to time. I never played at his table, but they said he actually played rather tight. Eventually they put a limit on how many chips he could have on the table. It was kind of sad, actually.
