IIRC, I thought Oakland Hills was OK. The '96 Open was exciting there anyway. Oakmont's phenomenal of course, but they did get carried away w/the lumberjacking IMO. What a closing three tho.

Remember there was also a WGC the week before the PGA. I would guess he also wants the Tour Championship if not also the BMW played on the West Coast at least every other year. I mean, East Lake is hardly considered a classic course nor Atlanta a great sports town, right?

And I know there's been a lot of grumbling about the choice of Cog Hill, where Tiger's won three times, but to be fair it's widely known that Tiger hates Westchester. On a related note, they have to start rotating the Bridgestone out of Firestone, FFS.

I don't think you'll ever see an equal amount of West Coast courses. There just aren't an equal number of West Coast based golfers, companies (FedEx = south based), or quality golf courses.

Also, it's not like anyone would want more stuff played at Pebble Beach or Torrey Pines, two courses Tiger likes.

I wonder what Phil wants from the commish. Better buffets?

[/ QUOTE ]

he wins and the haters still find a way.

lol i get it, better buffets because he's not jacked like Tigroids.

[/ QUOTE ]

Did you see his interview? He clearly wants something and clearly still has bitch [censored]. Of course us haters are going to take a shot at the guy. He did play [censored] awesome though.

[/ QUOTE ]

Uh, he clearly wants something? Read Clarkmeister's post and it'll make sense to you.

If Tiger says the sames thing Phil does, you'd be sucking his dick even harder for "not being afraid to speak his mind about the commissioner."

[/ QUOTE ]

Thing is Tiger wouldn't say this and be a bitch about it. Keep on sucking Phil's [censored] Euro.

You're probably right, but Phil likes those courses too. [img]/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img]

Harding Park, Sahalee & a revamped Olympic Club are high level. Bandon Dunes supposedly is, but I don't know about a Tour event. Pumpkin Ridge is a great course, but too short for the men.

Just because Phil is making his opinion heard doesn't make him a bitch about it. But since you view the world through Tiger-colored lenses, I can see why it would appear that way to you. Tiger probably feels the same way but doesn't have the sack to say it.

and I ain't sucking on nobody's dick, I'm just defending the man. Read my post again. And also, accusing me of the same dick-suckery that I accused Dids/all Tiger fans of is a pretty weak move. like at least think up an original phrasing of your insult of me.

Some of the Phil hate in this thread is kinda LOL. I mean, he's ALWAYS been brutally honest in his interviews, as opposed to Tiger's veneer-tastic sound bites. Don't get me wrong, I love and respect Tiger, maybe the greatest player we'll ever see (and Phil seems to agree, heh), but to attack Phil for his interviews while letting Tiger run amok is pretty intellectually barren.

LOL

You're hilarious.

Nobody is ripping Phil for saying something, they're taking a cheat shot, because Phil is the kind of guy that it's fun to take cheap shots at. I very likely agree with whatever Phil is saying, but it doesn't mean I don't enjoy somebody making fun of his bitch terts. (I didn't realize that an alternative form of this word was censored, which may have made other posts look harsher than they were).

I prefer to think of it as semi-fat on perpetually young (not so much anymore) republican looking schmuck crime.

Also I hate fat people.

Also it's easy to get under Euro's skin.

This problably isn't the thread for it, and it's a played out topic, but I'm not sure there's anybody in professional sports that elicits more irrational and unfair dislike from me than Phil.

He's on my short list too, though I like to think I can be rational about him. He's def the 2nd best golfer in the world. I was just starting to really think he had turned the corner when the 18th hole happened last year, then it was right back to being Phold.

Number one on my list is Peyton Manning (obv to those of you from sporting events forum), who is slightly ahead of Tony LaRussa (do coaches count?).
