Many don't, but they should care about providing a good service. I'm with Blarg on this one. When I was 17 working at McD's and I was annoyed/frustrated/whatever, I didn't start making crappy burgers and sucking at my job. What makes me so special, ya know?

1. Being a dick isn't cool.
2. Nobody said the guy had to like his job. Who cares?
3. Liking your job has no bearing on whether it's cool to be a dick or not.
