[ QUOTE ] Make pass interferance plays reviewable. No way should one ref be able to give 20/30/40+ yard penalty and the play not be reviewable. [/ QUOTE ] Even better than this - make pass interference a set penalty. Instead of "Where the foul occurred", make it 10 or 15 yards. That makes it far more fair, IMO. [/ QUOTE ] It's not good and less fair. It allows the defender, when getting beat deep, to take out a receiver thus gaining dozens of yards. That isn't fair to the offense. In particular, the best example I can remember is from the 2001 Fiesta Bowl where Oregon were playing Colorado. Oregon tend to play very aggressive, shut down the run and leave the corners on an island type defense. Rashad Bauman, our corner, got beat deep and just held the guy. Instead of giving up a touchdown it was just a 15 yard penalty. That's still somewhat unfair, but what makes it worse is that it happened well down the field so even if the guy caught the ball and fell down Oregon still gained 15-20 yards of field position. That shouldn't be allowed to occur. |

Even if there were no way to speed up replays, I still prefer them to bad calls. [/ QUOTE ] |

[ QUOTE ] Okay, now I'm going to make a serious suggestion (really) that no one will like. I think they shouldn't play overtime in the regular season. All overtime rules in football have problems, and in the regular season, there doesn't have to be a winner. There still wouldn't be any where near as many ties as there are in soccer. [/ QUOTE ] I greatly prefer this to the current NFL and especially College OT rules. However, I think good OT rules would allow for a great OT, like abolishing the field goal in OT, or less dramatically, forcing teams to score 4 points before winning a game in OT. [/ QUOTE ]I like the 4 point suggestion a lot....probably my favorite idea about OT. |

One other format that I think is okay. Just extend the fourth quarter until someone scores. So if the last play of regulation is 2nd and 8 on the teams own 40, and the team gains 5 yards, the first play of overtime would be 3rd and 3 on their own 45. [/ QUOTE ]Wow, another idea I like a lot....you guys are full of insight. |

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Get rid of the salary cap. [/ QUOTE ]worst suggestion in the thread easily. And I'm a Skins fan. [/ QUOTE ] Please explain. [/ QUOTE ]The Skins would benefit as much as any team from no salary cap since they have an owner that is very loose with spending money. |

BTW whoever said make the Super Bowl best 2 of 3, that's a pretty cool idea. I don't think that in practice it's better than the current one off but the idea of a Super Bowl game at home would be amazing. Especially if your team plays away first and wins there. The home game where a win means you win the Super Bowl would be great, especially coupled with a loss meaning you have one more chance.

I think they should abolish the challenge system and make every replay the decision of the booth. [/ QUOTE ] They would review every [censored] play if this happened. Kinda like they do in the last two minutes of each half. |

Okay, now I'm going to make a goofy suggestion (but I still think it would be good).
After a successful two point conversion, the team that scored should have the option of forfeiting one point in exchange for being allowed another two point conversion attempt. If this were successful, the team would again be allowed this option again. This would continue until the team elects to take its points, or fails to convert a two point conversion. This would mean that theoretically, no team would be out of it. It would be a great game the first time that a team down by 10 scores a touchdown and makes 3 consecutive 2 point conversions to force overtime (of better yet, 4 straight two point conversions to win outright). |
