Re: Overpair on Paired board - RANT
[ QUOTE ]
I call this down against an unknown. KK is nearly the same hand as 66 in this situation and I doubt anybody would be arguing so vigorously for aggressive play with 66. [/ QUOTE ] Um no it's not. 66 is WAY more vulnerable and much more likely to be outdrawn by a non 9x hand. It's also possible he was passive PF and has a higher PP. It's no longer WA/WB situation with 66. |

Re: Overpair on Paired board - RANT
I hate to bump this from the dark, give everyone mind-aches and get everyone all peeved, but...
This is a really, really good thread. When in this situation, I used to more or less always raise, then treat as most WA/WB and call down, now I'm not too sure about anything anymore. For now, I might just go for the puss move; just call down some predetermined % of the time with QQ+ in this spot using the random number generator on my wrist(for now, second hand 1-30 means call down ). Of course raise/punish all the time with lower pp's than that. I cut/pasted it into a real reply button for the OP instead of using quick reply just so I can keep it in my favorites (this "flate mode" thing is really cool btw) miles, I hope this isn't the reason why you hate 2p2 once again, really good thread. I'm gonna dig up that one that's causing all the fuss now |

Re: Overpair on Paired board - RANT
For those that don't understand why I said KK is nearly like 66 in this spot:
1) He has a 9x. I have 2 outs either way so it really doesn't matter whether I hold 66 or KK. 2) He has 5x. Well, he has maybe 3 more outs with this hand when I hold 66 vs KK (but it doesn't matter when he holds A5). 3) He has air. THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT HOLDING!! I want to play KK passively, just like 66. I want him to keep firing with air. Yes, he has a better chance of drawing out when I have 66, which makes KK superior. However, it doesn't change the way I would play the hand. I never said I have the same equity with 66. So, for situations 1, 2, and 3 I play 66/KK the same way for the same reasons. Sorry for the confusion. |
