Re: KG traded to Celtics for Jefferson/othercrap
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] the notion that they became instant contenders with this move is far fetched. [/ QUOTE ] are you kidding me? they aren't one of the 2 or 3 favorites to win the east? is that not a contender? [/ QUOTE ] No...the West has the only contenders...winning the East is like winning the Special Olympics etc. [/ QUOTE ] u donk everyone has said they are instant contenders for the east. [/ QUOTE ] Donk? uh thx? Do they get a prize for winning the east? [/ QUOTE ] yes: http://www.chinadaily.com.cn/english...8721178311.jpg |

I hope this deal goes through. Good riddence Garnett, your complaining and rediculous contract are not wanted in MN anymore.

Re: KG traded to Celtics for Jefferson/othercrap
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] hell KG prob has a better shot at winning a title in 08 on Boston, than he would have had on Phoenix had that MN/ATL/PHO deal went through given how much tougher it is to get out of the Western Conference [/ QUOTE ] This is a very intriguing point that might very well be true. I would like to subscribe to your newsletter... [/ QUOTE ] Lets take a look at this from a really simple math equation, you have two conferences, each with a different number of powerhouses (relative in the East) % to reach the NBA finals West (relevant teams): Dallas San Antonio Phoenix Utah Houston (weighted 1/2) Denver (weighted 1/2) East (Relevant Teams): Boston Detroit Chicago Miami (weighted 1/2) Cleveland (weighted 1/2) C's 25% to get to finals PHX 20% to get to finals PHX 70% to win in finals BOS 30% Boston chance to get there and win (.3*.25) = 7.5% PHX chance to get there and win (.7*.2) = 14% If we conceded BOS was 30% in any finals matchup they would need to be about 45% in the East for KG to have a better shot at a title in BOS then PHX |

Washington was the #2 seed before Arenas/Butler got hurt.....why are they getting ignored??!! [/ QUOTE ] Just trying to make a point that while this is a GREAT deal for the city of Boston. KG would have been much better off in PHX. Also people complaining about KG being old and what not, keep in mind that PHX was going to give up Amare Stoudamire for him! Also, I think WAS is a def threat, more so then CLE even, who I have a hard time thinking will sniff the finals again without getting Lebron some more help. Big Z is basically done and Hughes is frail. In closing, HIBACHI! |

[ QUOTE ] keep in mind that PHX was going to give up Amare Stoudamire for him! [/ QUOTE ] Yeah that's wrong. [/ QUOTE ] No it wasnt. There was a proposed 3-way deal with CHA which would have sent Amare to CHA in return for KG, while MIN got parts from each. |
