I must admit to not watching GA Tech's special teams closely, but their kicker is making 2+ FGs per game and their punter is top 10 in the country in average and GA TEch is number 1 in the country in net punting. They are also 11 in kickoff returns.

VA Tech has Eddie ROyal, a dangerous return guy on punts. Their punter is good, kicker is good but mostly unproven, and their kickoff return numbers are poor (110 in the country).

This is a wash in reputation only.

Don't see much that looks good in the openers this week. I'd lean toward Georgia Tech at -1.5 and Alabama at +7, but nothing looks too far off. If Sewell's going to play, I'd like Virginia at +2.5 too, but I'm not sure if his injury was serious or not.

Sewell had leg cramps, he'll play next weekend.

Oops, guess I could have looked that up pretty easily. When I turned on the end of the game last Saturday, the announcers were selling it like he'd been taking a huge beating and had gotten legitimately injured. Don't think I heard cramps mentioned once. I definitely like Virginia at home in that case.

UGA usually tones it down after a big win. I agree to wait for +17.

I hope they blow 'em out though. They'd be riding so high going into the game w/ us.

I know UGA football as good as anyone and there is no way I would bet UGA -17...I do hear the QB for Troy wont play but we are the kings of playing to our competition at home...especially after a big win...

Take troy +17....

Missouri -3.5
Kansas -16.5 -122 risking 5/6u. (All I have left on Matchbook )

The Kansas line is -122 after fees which means I get ~3 points for 12 cents compared to other books. I was liking Kansas even before the Nebraska QB news.

Missouri line might be a trap I guess. Seems too good to be true.

i think the missouri line is fair.

The following bets are only for 1u cause college football is tough:

Gtech (just cause I want to have action on Thursday Night)
Uconn -2.5
BC -6.5
Troy +16.5/+17
Minn +13
Maryland +3
LSU -7
Purdue +7
Ore. St. +15.5/+16
Navy +3.5

and for kicks South Carolina ML @ Arkansas.

Man, more people on Maryland.

Maryland has about 4 or 5 healthy lineman left. They looked horrible Saturday, like a team that is done. The 30-17 final at home against Clemson is misleading, they scored two garbage time TDs.

UNC actually outgained Wake last week despite losing 37-10. They gave up two long kick returns, one for a TD and the other inside the ten, and had an INT returned for a TD.

UNC has been pretty good at home, hanging with UVA and USC-e and beating Miami.

Iggy,

Since you have a good grasp on the ACC, what do you think about Clemson -16.5 at Duke. Duke is improved, however it looks like Clemson has the offense cranking, and their pass D is outstanding. Duke can't really run the ball, they move the ball through the air.

Picks so far, all to win 1u:
Georgia Tech -2.5 (alumni pick, not necessarily a smart one)
Boston College -6.5
Rutgers +2.5

Probable picks, but waiting for now:
Washington State spread
Missouri spread
Troy spread
Iowa moneyline
Maryland moneyline
Navy moneyline
