That range of possible hands is too large. With the pre-flop action and the implied odds left in Ivey's stack, the only reasonable hands to call with were 77 and 66.

Ivey wasn't that afraid of aces, he was afraid of a set and obviously he didn't think that Booth was capable of making such a bluff.

[/ QUOTE ]

That deep, Booth's range in this spot is far wider than just a PP.

And as someone already mentioned Ivey said himself later that he put Booth on AA.

I like how PA and Benyamine rebuy just in case they double up. I wonder who is playing outside their bankroll limit at this table or if someone has there entire BR on the table.

On the Ivey/Booth hand I think Ivey was scared, that was a lot of money even for him. Put Negraneu in that spot and he probably calls.

[/ QUOTE ]
So you think Negreanu gets less scared about big stakes?

If so, you're kidding right?

Phil Ivey was not scared. Anybody who has seen him play knows he wasn't scared. He folded because he thought it was the right play, and no other reason. He figued he was looking at a set, AA, or a favored draw. Otherwise he calls there.

Who knows what Ivey was thinking about, but being beat a high % of the time is not a prerequisite to folding.

[/ QUOTE ]

Well, Tuco knows, because he's a close friend of Yukon's and he told him what Ivey said he was thinking after it was over (see Tuco's post above). I have no reason to think that Ivey was lying about it to Yukon, or that Yukon lied to Tuco, or that Tuco is lying to us now.

What bankroll do you think is required in a game this size?

[/ QUOTE ]
Dunno, probably something big. Some of the players have probably sold a piece of themselves for the game. (Antonio? Aba was but said he didn't really need to do that)
[ QUOTE ]

According to the fundamental theorem, good poker is what Booth did, not Ivey.

[/ QUOTE ]
How does this prove he was scared?

Anyways... we're getting sidetracked here...

Aba bought in for $700k. Quite a big chunk of his bankroll at the time. I think most of the players on this table were sufficiently rolled as most, if not all, beat the big games on the internet or in the casinos. I'd say in previous episodes many of the other players were severely under rolled.

Hello, Lurker here

I'm just curious why noone is talking about Antonio's Esfandiari's re-bluff preflop against Benyamine, I thought it was a great read, and Antonio does this move alot on HSP when he thinks somebody is on a steal. He has really played well this season and got unlucky in the past seasons and doesn't seem to get much props here unless its regarding his t-shirt.

Seriously, if only there was some way people could watch TV shows at some arbitrary time instead of the time they are being aired. Someone should invent either a device or an internet service that could do it.

[/ QUOTE ]

god, that would be awesome.

I like how the ranges given for Yukon are so tight that they don't include his actual hand.
