why not jay? i figured it was unlikely he had me beat, KJ got there, but thats it. JT probably would have raised the turn.

i knew that was a decent board to float on, and with my knowledge that you are fully capable of it do you think cr > betting turn in the situation i was in?

[/ QUOTE ]

yeah checkraise is probably better. i wouldn't beat yourself up for not doing it though it's a pretty sick play, and i often have a mediocre hand here with showdown value and check behind anyway.

edit: quoted post i was responding to to make it more clear

His most likely hand here is like a midpair, flush draw or Jx. He probably won't call this river bet with J9 or midpairs, probably folds QJ and likely doesn't have AJ given preflop (not sure on this one). I assume he can definitely have KJ and sometimes JT, sets - its definitely not a horrible board for him to slowplay on. Just seems like betting (especially 3/4 pot) doesn't have too much value vs his calling range, and I think there is an awful lot of merit in c/c (especially given Seabeast's comment that he was going to bet like every river when checked to).

I don't see the value in a check-raise tbh unless you like making big calls in spots like this

I think a fake blocker or a check/call are much better tbh.

i think there are more bluff catchers in his range then value betting/bluffing ones. i doubt his double floating frequency is very high (???), plus it looks like a good card for me to bluff in his eyes.

boards gotten drawy now the T came, he's probably betting alot of Js to charge for draws and i can easily rep one.
