Paying massive amount of money to play CarDS CaRDS CARDS CaRdSss of all things against one another is totally retarded. And it seems normal to everyone. Slavery seemed normal. And half this country really believes in jesus. And millions of people actually attend professional sporting events, i cant understand why. "Truly, can you imagine anything more boring than fashion? Professional sports, perhaps. Grown men swatting at little balls, while the rest of the world pays money to applaud." "Human stupidity is infinite" |

900,000 players lose, about 100,000 might win something. THE HOUSE TAKES ALL THE MONEY. THE HOUSE TAKES ALL THE MONEY. THE HOUSE TAKES ALL THE MONEY. [/ QUOTE ] Clearly the house doesn't take all the money if 100,000 win money. |

Re: Winning players actually get around 55% of the money.
Even at a site with no rake, the losing players will just lose 2-3% slower for small stakes and .01% for the highest games. If you want to rant about something why not start with casinos and non-skill games, because I'm pretty sure all poker players won't coalesce and strike. Especially those winning at it, which is somewhere between 1-2.5 and 2-3, not 1-9. At least bring statistics instead of hypothetical rake rates, among other assumptions, biases. Also, you might want to stop calling everyone moronic, you just sound like a miserable person. According to you we can't enjoy sports, poker, or have any religious beliefs. (I'll let you have the slavery = bad part, good job, surprised you didn't go with the usual contrarian bs)

Re: Winning players actually get around 55% of the money.
Tournament fees should be 5% online. And max rake should be $1
in $1-$2 NL games...risking 30 to win 27 is [censored] Just yesterday some 19 year olds invited me to their game. I asked if it was a home game. They said no but we provide food and drinks and stuff. Everyone has the same stupid idea. Well start a poker game and gobble up $1000 a night for ourselves. I refuse to play in raked games in my city. It is fin [censored]. Deck of cards, self deal, some cheap chips, pay someone $10+ an hour is totally fin retarded. oh yea u gotta tip the dealer too.[censored] that..poker is the dumbest scam ever...holla if u hear me |

Re: Winning players actually get around 55% of the money.
avg rake at lower games is about 15 cents a hand, when you're involved, slightly less for holdem and slightly more for omaha since there are more flops seen. If you are
playing every hand I could see why rake would be such an issue, but its not 3$ unless two 100bb stacks get it in the middle (still only 1.5$/person). And any site with players doing this frequently every hour would be very profitable anyways. here is example of all in where players are only 40bb deep and rake is 1$. also if you're playing ring you will be involved less and rake will be much smaller. Online sites have relatively lower rake compared to their casino counterparts. however low stakes headsup limit online would be unprofitable in my opinion. *** FLOP *** [6c 7d 2d] Dustin Dirksen checks Gus Hansen has 15 seconds left to act Gus Hansen bets $1,200 tsarrast raises to $4,800 Dustin Dirksen folds Gus Hansen has 15 seconds left to act Gus Hansen raises to $15,600 tsarrast raises to $16,194.50, and is all in Gus Hansen calls $594.50 tsarrast shows [Qd 3d 7s 5c] Gus Hansen shows [Jc 8d Jd 8h] *** TURN *** [6c 7d 2d] [3c] *** RIVER *** [6c 7d 2d 3c] [5h] tsarrast shows two pair, Sevens and Fives Gus Hansen shows a pair of Jacks tsarrast wins the pot ($33,588) with two pair, Sevens and Fives *** SUMMARY *** Total pot $33,589 | Rake $1 |

Re: Winning players actually get around 55% of the money.
This is sort of ridiculous. Don’t play poker because someone is collecting a rake and making money. Don’t go to sporting events because someone is selling tickets, jerseys programs and making money. Don’t go golfing because someone is making money selling balls, clubs and green fees. Better not buy and drive a car, or buy clothes or eat because somebody is making a dollar. Can’t have anyone making a dollar by charging fees. People have the freedom to do whatever they want with their entertainment money. If you don't like, than don't play/pay. Start your own rake free home game.

Re: Winning players actually get around 55% of the money.
Here's a list of my monthly expenses:
Rent $1200 Car insurance $200 Cell Phone $40 Internet $40 Poker Rake $2000 When the average person only makes $16 an hour is taxed down and clears $12 an hour..and then they play 15 hours of poker a week and are charged $10+ its a fin problem. 100% of online players should put $50 in a world poker exchange account so theres 100,000 players on that site and all the other sites are forced to compete on rake. Poker rake can fall 75% and these sites would still be profitable businesses. You are all morons. People have a natural inclination to disagree with someone especially when someone who is telling them they are idiots, which more than half of you really are.lol |
