Daniel has said a few times in his blog about how he loaned out money or got paid money he was owed many times. He also talked once about playing $4000/$8000 in LA with a bunch of the regular 'big gamers' where everyone was playing on credit because none of them would take that kind of cash on the road with them.

Sammy had a bag of Bellagio chips on him, so what - I'll wager that's what many of them used for their buy in. I guarantee you, though, that he doesn't walk around with $250,000 on him at all times. That's why casinos have boxes and these guys aren't that stupid.

I have been reading the [censored] updates in this thread for a month now. Every time I want to stick needles in my eyes. I keep my mouth shut because I really don't give a [censored], but no more.

First, I'm disappointed. I'm disappointed that this has 80 replies without anyone realizing what really happened. NEGREANU STAKED LAAK!!!!!!!!!!! I think you would be very very very surprised at how much money Negreanu makes. Incorporate FCP with Cardplayer, appearances, commercials, other endorsements, etc...I would be SURPRISED if he makes less than $20 million a year without poker. With poker, it's probably $23-$25 million. Laak on the other hand...well I would be surprised if he's every netted a $1 million year in poker. Hasn't he been playing the 25/50 game and sometimes the 50/100? If you're winning 4 BB's an hour (remember it's a live cash game, so that's every 15-20 hands in NL), and he played 50 hours a week that's $1 million for the year.

Given this information, I honestly honestly think that Negreanu just tossed Phil $100K to play in the game, and when Laak was leaving, Negreanu said, "don't forget that $100." I'm pretty sure those were his exact words. No one asks to borrow money like that. This is in a tone that is requesting the money that is owed to them. That said, hopefully this will close the thread, once and for all. Negreanu did not borrow, he lent, because he's got more money than [censored] and it's pocket change.[/rant]

Good point, but where I came from when you owe money on a bet you don't wait for the winner to remind you. Could just be a little thing like being the only guy who doesn't bring enough money to the game, like losing your ass at a sport you are a rank beginner at, like losing a million in one Bellagio session, like living with your Mom.
