Beer often gets skunked because green bottles let in more UV light than brown bottles. This goes for clear bottles as well, and is why Corona is horrible.

I went on the sam adams brewery tour. they explained that green bottles, especially when exposed to flouresent light, makes beer go skunky, and that is why they use brown bottles
