I thought it was pretty lame. I think it would have been better had they sold harder that they weren't seeing each other and ended the episode with the kissing scene in the car.

Yeah, this definitely dragged. It felt more like one episode with a bunch of deleted scenes left in and then some worse deleted scenes that wouldn't even usually qualify as deleted scenes. Kind of worried about the rest of the hour-long episodes.

Also, I miss Karen. [img]/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img] I still think that Jim should have stayed with her instead of passing up that job to be with frumpy Pam. She is looking a little better than she did at the end of the last season, but she hasn't really been attractive to me since she broke up with Roy and lost the "unattainable" thing. It didn't help that they wrote Karen's character the exact same way even though Karen was obv way hotter.

There were some really bad moments, but I laughed a lot throughout. This episode gave me no reason to think season four won't be another good one.

I think they coulda done without the whole secretive act altogether. When you think about it, it doesn't even make sense. Everyone in the office knew in Season 2 that Jim liked Pam. And then there was Pam at the beach, spilling the beans, in front of everyone! It's obvious to everyone else in the office by now that they really like each other, so what real incentive do they have to make a charade out of their relationship? I think the writers threw it in there just to provide some kind of "twist" for the season premiere.

Yeah the writers do dumb things from time to time, but they're definitely not setting some new precedent. They screw up from time to time. Still a great show (not that you're arguing otherwise).

Yea, and I'm not selling the hour-long format just yet. The Job was great and I personally liked ABC a lot. I just think this was an awkward premise to start the season on and the episode dragged a bit too much. But I say the next 3 weeks will be better.
