Yes if I'm in actual danger, but I'd say 99% of women I could restrain if they were attacking me without actualy "hitting" them.

Yes, I can think of a few instances of taking a woman down with an arm bar and one in high school were I actually punched a bitch in the face. That [censored] was totally justified as the psycho was bigger and probably stronger than I was and just rushed my ass when I was playing basketball. Fell into the closed bleachers and I gave her a swift hit to the jaw just out of reaction. Apparently screwed her up enough to get people to come in and break up the fight before she recovered from what I did. She was suspended and I got off... apparently the school agreed with me as well.

I would obv try not to have it come to that, but I will only take so much. If a chick says she is going to kick me in the balls or something, I let her know it wont be tolerated. Thankfully, it has yet to get there.

Ill take all the verbal abuse and punches/kicks to arms/legs/chest/back that I cant evade/deflect.

It seems to me that the boy in the OP made the correct play in self defense. The authorities got it wrong in punishing him for defending himself.
