I think Kansas is a good team. Most people will not dispute this. The question is HOW good. They have not really played anyone yet, so it is a little difficult to tell. I think they have earned the number on ranking, and will have to win two more to keep it.

They might be overrated, but I do not think they are the most overrated team in CFB. That is West VA imo.

HAHAHAHAHA

M2TR, are you leveling me?

No, they'd be a .500 team in the SEC.

Come on, we all know the SEC is so good, Kansas wouldn't even have a conference win in there. Even the Patriots would be lucky to be .500 in there.

Kansas is the most overrated team in college football right now. When November 24th rolls around, I'll be making Missouri my POTY at sports betting.

What do you think Kansas has done exactly to fool Sagarin who has KU as a touchdown better than Missouri? This is a sincere question, I know Sagarin's system is not infallible. I'm just wondering what, specifically, you think is causing such a huge "error."

Turnovers are a pretty big part. They're #1 in the nation in turnover margin which is about 95% luck. Sagarin does not adjust for that stat at all.

It is kinda funny that I've positioned myself as the Kansas basher in this thread though. I actually bet on them 3 of the last 4 weeks, watched large portions of their games the last 3 weeks, and was for the most part impressed. I still think they're a very good team that has been undervalued by the betting markets more often than not. I just don't think they're Top 3 and I don't think they'll beat Missouri.

Turnovers are 95% luck? Wow, that might be one of the dumbest things I've ever heard.

What has earned the SEC this mythical status? Their out of conference road games versus Sagarin predictor top 100 teams:

L #62 Mississippi State at #7 West Virginia 13-38
L #29 Tennessee at #26 California 31-45
L #34 Alabama at #44 Florida State 14-21
W #42 South Carolina at #69 North Carolina 21-15

That's it. They haven't played anyone else on the road in the top 100, so they're 1-3 on the year, with their best road win being South Carolina over North Carolina by 6 points.

Awesome. I was thinking about doing this kind of analysis. What about the home games?

There's a whole host of out of conference home games versus Sagarin predictor 40-100 teams, and I think the SEC might have won all of them. So it's not useful information for bashing the SEC.

Kansas has the worst SOS of any BCS ranked team.

How many BCS conference teams have they beaten with a winning record? 1.
