Before World War II, General Marshall said the United States was planning to incinerate Japan's tinderbox cities. And we did.
My point is that politicians are always planning to go to war and when we start thinking that a demonstration by a few hundred people in the Sudan makes the war in Iraq justified we buy into their bull.

I don't remember the incident, however, Carter chose to cut down a tree near an aggressive action by a bordering country overseas that cost the life of an American soldier, instead of bombing. He was BOO'd by Americans.
