Re: Best way to combat cbets?
i like raising or c/r oop on flop to defend against continuation bets

Re: Best way to combat cbets?
3-Way, K9s is a monster, even OOP. 3bet sometimes, Call sometimes.
When I call, I try c/c,c/f first few times to determine if he is capable of double barrels. Occasionally when he is obviously FOS I'll turn an intended turn c/f into a c/c or c/r at the last minute, though the c/r usually gets used more when I have air than a hand as strong as MP. What I don't like is what I see all the kids doing now with the "I have a weak pair" flop check-minraise. its super-transparent, after the first couple. I really don't like bloating the pot at any stage, but esp. on the flop. c/c flop lead turn is usually what I settle into once I know he's mixing in some close to optimum number of double barrels but not going wild. If he's double barreling everything, c/c is better, if he's not double barreling often enough, c/f is better. Depends a little on how he's handling draws. |
