RIP Henry Hyde
One of the great conservatives in my lifetime and a glaring contrast to today's GOP and government in general.
His speech in the Clinton impeachment hearings is one of the best I've ever heard regarding our foundation, the rule of law and the sanctity of the President's Oath of Office. STATEMENT OF THE HONORABLE HENRY J. HYDE |

Another blow hard hipocrite Republican. His role in the impeachment process was a disgrace.
That being said, RIP. |

Re: RIP Henry Hyde
I grew up in Hyde's district. He came to a High School class of mine one day to talk about the Constitution. The one thing I remember about his experience was asking him about his experience confirming judges and him reminding me that the House doesn't do confirmations. Of course, I didn't like his politics. In college, made it a point to not change my registration to my college town so I could vote against him. Besides the impeachment and abortion stances that everyone knows of, what I didn't like about him was his stance against expanding O'Hare Airport: he would cave in to the whining of the neighbors at the expance of the economic health of the whole city. |
