Optimal line w/ JJ
Villian is unknown but probably not good due to stack size

Re: Optimal line w/ JJ
I think this is a weak king or better more often than a flush draw, bluff, or a lower pair, so I would fold. You'll be folding the best hand sometimes- that's why I hate JJ. Depending on my mood, I will often just call with JJ when someone has position on me and raises like this- because I know I'll have to fold if villain is aggressive and there is an overcard on the board. *shrug* maybe I'm missing out on some EV, but I try to play them for set value only when I'm out of position and the pot's been open and raised. I'm sure everyone will call me a nit.

Re: Optimal line w/ JJ
I was hoping for a fold or push by him pf. I really didn't want him to call. I was planning on getting it in on most flops and those included most 1 overcard flops too.

Re: Optimal line w/ JJ
if you're willing to go with the hand, why not just c/c all the way down then? I think I'd rather that or open shove than c/r all in I think but I hate this spot too.

[/ QUOTE ] I really don't want to see more overcards and just wanna get my $ in now. Just not sure of best line. You think openshove gets called lighter than c/raising? |

Seems like he calls an open shove lighter than he bets and calls yes.
meh, I dunno. I hate this spot. |

Re: Optimal line w/ JJ
2 pieces of advice, 3 bet less preflop. about 26 because of stack sizes.
if the guy is cold calling 25% of his stack, hes gotta mean business. With that in mind.. proceed with great caution. Just calling preflop isnt so bad either vs an unknown, easier to 3 bet jacks with position and you still have the UTG limper to worry about. |

Re: Optimal line w/ JJ
I'm not sold on 3betting less. I'd think w/ a stack this size more is better cuz it makes postflop decisions easier OOP

Re: Optimal line w/ JJ
His small bet would convince me I'm good a fair % of the time here, I like how you played it. OTOH, he's gonna check behind a lot and a heart on the turn would put you in an even tougher spot.
What dyou think of a small stupid-looking bet to induce a shove? |
