What\'s the proper action?
Playing in a home game and there is a raise by the UTG. Several people call and when the action is back to the Big Blind the dealer assumed he called (he did say or do anything yet) and deals the flop. The Big Blind complains and says he wanted to raise (he hadn't even called yet). I have heard of redealing a card after putting one back in the deck but what about a whole flop?

Re: What\'s the proper action?
Pull back the flop, let the BB act, shuffle the stub (including the flop, but not the burn), cut, no burn, deal flop.

Re: What\'s the proper action?
These kind of things are governed by common sense for the general rule and poker sense for the specifics.
Obviously, BB has the right to fold, call or raise. And he can't do that seeing the flop cards. Thus, the flop cards are no good, BB now acts and we get new flop cards. So how do we get new flop cards? Well we put the old ones back into the stub, shuffle and get three brand new ones. (Note: Stub is the unused portion of the deck.) That was an easy question. A hard one would be what if UTG now moved all-in and somebody called before BB could speak up? |

I was arguing that only the flop should have been redealt as suggested. |
