raise preflop. since you didn't, check the flop, the pot is to small for even a semi bluff.

as played, call the turn and fold the river.

Even though the 1$ drop when there’s no flop is absolutely ridiculous, I’m still chopping 52o.

Villain in this hand doesn’t like his hand, since he asks for a chop, but he still likes it enough to complete.
What makes you think you’ll get anywhere with 52o HU unless you raise it preflop and bet every single thing that comes at you to get him to fold?
52o is one of the absolute worst hands HU there are. Take the chop. It’s better for your table image, and it’s +EV in the long run with 52o.

I sincerely hope you lost the hand.

benny, i hope you're levelling, because i have you as 0 for 4 there

chopping discussions aside, i mean, since i'd chop often and obviously with this hand. but given that he wanted to play.

Just for the record, arent you supposed to not look at your cards before accepting a chop?

If not then not chopping 52s would be setting monies on fire?

some content too,; Since SB chose to complete I don't think we can raise pre flop, online I think its an option since it will force SB to play more straight forward in the future but in a live game where people chop the blinds I think its bad.

Flop is a value bet, turn is a raise and river is probably a call I think we are gettig 3-bet a lot if behind and I think we are behind fairy often.

So, when you're in the blinds you don't look at your cards until somebody else at the table puts money in the pot? More to the point, does everybody else at your live tables do this, too?

I only played live once so I wouldn't know, but I recall having read somewhere that its bad manners to look at your cards before deciding to chop?

(during my Vegas trip I did look at my cards in the BB and was offered a chop and took it, but I felt bad about it maybe I shouldn't have?)

To be quite honest, I've never chopped the blinds, but I abhor ties. That said, at Commerce and various other SoCal and Vegas cardrooms where I've played I've never noticed anyone waiting to look at their cards in the blinds to make sure it doesn't chop. It almost never gets folded to the blinds either, tho.

Make a decision to always play or always chop. Then it doesn't matter what you see.

Sometimes when this happens, there's a quick flurry of "Do you chop?" going around the table as everyone tries to figure out where the guys next to them stand on the issue.

hehe, this is somewhat off-topic, but on the subject of chops. I had two hands last night when I played live in chop situations.

The first, I'm OTB with A3. It's folded to me, so I open-raise. Both blinds glare at me; evidently they had agreed to chop before I raised. SB 3bets. BB caps. I fold and congratulate them on getting $6 of dead money from me. They agree to check it down and SB opens 99 and BB opens QQ. Flop comes down with a 9 and the set of 9s holds up for SB. BB looks at me like he wants to kill me; he would've gotten his $3 back instead of losing $12.

The second, I'm in SB and it's looking like it'll be folded to us, so I ask BB what he wants to do. He says "instead of chopping, let's cap preflop and then check it down!" I have AJ and know he's LAGgro enough to play a worse hand this way, so I agree. So, we cap and then open. He has A3 and my unimproved AJ is good.
