Re: set+oesd turnplay? riverplay?
I don't like turn check. Villain could have 24 and be scared that you have 47. Why reraise the flop if you're going to check the turn? Nothing changed. You still have a huge draw and villain has the azz end of a straight (or middle, bottom set).
Checking screws up your line. Bet the turn. |

If he called the flop raise I don't think he ever plans on folding 24 on that turn. [/ QUOTE ] Yet people sometimes do. Even if he didnt he might fold on the river! |

Re: set+oesd turnplay? riverplay?
I'd bet the turn. I think it's very possible you fold out 24, or get called by a lower set, or maybe he has some weak draw that peeled and picked up hearts.
Also I'd usually raise preflop, it's not a big mistake either way though. |

Re: set+oesd turnplay? riverplay?
[ QUOTE ]
I don't know why anyone wouldn't raise this flop. Bet the turn as well, give him a chance to fold 24. [/ QUOTE ] Correct line here. You aren't getting value out of many hands and once you checked the turn you basically gave up realistic chances of folding out 24. |

Re: set+oesd turnplay? riverplay?
i think a guy like this would never fold 24 here. why should i turn my hand into a bluff than i still have outs and a c/r really would suck

Re: set+oesd turnplay? riverplay?
a c/r wouldn't "really suck" here, you are snap calling it. Also if the guy wouldn't ever fold 24, what do you think he will do with 55 or 33 which probably do better against your range, but you have crushed in this spot? Especially a hand like 554x, you are guaranteed to get some value here.
