Re: AZ is the best rapper in history
Black Thought is nice dude, I don't care what anyone says. And Rass Kas is an excellent rapper, though he never really found production that meshed well with his ability. Then again, his work seemed to become more mediocre as it moved along. And as for KRS, I stand by him in historical context mostly. A lot of stuff he did early was nice and is stuff that I will love forever, but I honestly don't like much of his work post-MC's Act Like They Don't Know.
However, throwing another name out there, O.C., particularly with respect to Jewelz. Nice stuff. |

Re: AZ is the best rapper in history
AZ's definitely one of the most underrated rappers in the history of the game. I remember back in the day(I'm 29) when I saw the Sugar Hill video, that song was way ahead of it's time. He's definitely one of the best lyricists and his style is unique. I have all his albums and I gotta say that he last one was super nice and way overlooked. Very rare do you hear someone driving by jamming his music, it's normally some dirty Southside rapper instead or Souljah boy or some garbage.

Re: AZ is the best rapper in history
Can people please stop calling Big L the most underrated rapper ever. Big F-ing deal, he had a couple of good songs with Jay Z and Tupac. Who wouldn't have? Big L is the most overrated rapper ever. '98 freestyle and the 7 minute freestyle sounded kinda cool but you are still a Jay-Z fanboy. AZ tears it up consistently: from life's a bitch until he quits.

If you like this [censored] then try listening to his catalog because this can't even touch the surface of the sick stuff he recorded. |

Re: AZ is the best rapper in history
Most definitely, honkytonk. On all of these supposedly sick freestyles with Jay-Z and L, Jay-Z's flow completely murders L's. Jay even uses the fast staccato flow better than Big L, with better cadence. I am reminded time and time again why Jay is the GOAT of the game. I think L could have been insane if he had lived longer.
Anyway, here's a Youtube, replete with his stans: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OYfKMIdoJL0 Flamebait: Joe Buddens is more overrated than Big L. |
